well they finally became …
THIS
a scarf for the four year old in my life, and she’s mighty pleased with it masha’allah…the only problem is that all the other kids want one now!!and I’m not sure if my intrest or patience can stand it…
On the deen front, masha’allah I’ve had three tajweed lessons since the last time I blogged and I have a new passion in life, I am enjoying myself more than I thought I would. It’s hard work and there’s alot to remember (which isn’t easy for someone who is well known for her forgetfulness) but.. It’s made me look at my mushaf in a completely new way, and It’s made me realise the importance of studying the content of al-Qur’an, and of beautifying it in the way we recite. My goal was to beging Tajweed classes after we had made hijrah, but I realised that if I started before I went I would be more motivated to find a teacher and continue once I get there. and where is the there in question?..It’s Algeria, and our departure date bi’idhnillah is sometime in July. So I’m working really hard to raise my game and get my eeman good and healthy before I go insha’allah. I know that between now and the summer Shaitaan will be working really hard to make me stray from my goal, but I’m more ready for him than I was last time round!!
A halaqah + a lovely bunch of sisters + intelligent discourse = 1 mega happy eeman boosted me!! and then to boost my eeman yet further one of my nearest and dearest from a far flung place caught me online for a chat, boost number 2 of the day and I’m officially on a roll…
Our topic today was proving the authenticity of the Qur’an, and what was supposed to be an hour long halaqah actually stretched into two hours and included a walk homeward with a couple of the sisters, it was a wonderful way to start the day and has left me feeling greedy for more..but it’s good to be greedy for knowledge! ….at last I can let my greed free in a halal way masha’allah.
Eid will be on Wednsday insha’allah, so I’m going to have to get moving on the planning front ..looks like the weather is going to be a bit erm…chill which seriously restricts possibilities so I’m going to invite people, feed people, and make myself happy making other people happy insha’allah.

I’m still here but finding less and less time to get to the pooter!!
I’ve finished the bulk of my mammoth painting project, just those straggly little odd jobs to get done and then I will finally have some time to call my own
insha’allah.
My main project now is making the most of these first ten days of dhul-hijjah, with lots of nawafil and dhikr insha’allah, I really need to nourish my eeman and find some time to cultivate my relationship with Allah.
We sometimes fall into the trap of fitting our islamic obligations in to our day wherever and whenever we can, when in fact it should be the other way round. So I’m going to be greedy and I’m going to grasp all the time I can to feed my eeman and be a better Muslimah.
I’ve been researching Jannah and the descriptions of it for a Halaqah next week, and it’s been stirring stuff, certainly a motivation for doing better and being better, may allah help us all to make the most of these blessed days, ameen
